Hurwitz says he'd made a director's cut of the fourth season to make it more like the first three, but it has never been released.

Jason Bateman revealed on his Twitter account that he has signed on to star in more upcoming episodes of this popular comedy. However, there's no information yet as to when fans can expect new episodes to premiere on Netflix. Season 4 ended with a murder mystery and the arrest of Buster (Hale) following the death of Lucille Two (Liza Minnelli).

While the almost decade-long wait between Arrested Development's third and fourth seasons was comprised of "will they/won't they" teasing that would put most soap opera sexual tension to shame, it's been hard to remain invested in the cast's hints regarding a fifth installment of the Bluth Family saga. "So stay tuned for Arrested Development". But now that someone like Jason Bateman has taken to Twitter and said he'll be getting behind the wheel of the Bluth family stair vehicle "this summer", it sounds like it might actually be happening.

Armed inmate killed, hostage rescued at hospital
The second nurse was "extremely emotional and upset" following the shooting, but appeared to be physically OK, Gengler said. Officials at the hospital and the sheriff's office did not immediately respond to requests for details.

Rumours of a fifth season began circulating last July, when Netflix boss Ted Sarandos said that "it was only a matter of when." At the very least, we know Jeffrey Tambor is available, because he sure as hell isn't here for this Hellboy reboot nonsense. "The talent is very busy. and it's owned by Fox", though he confirmed discussions with the cast were underway. At the time, he confirmed that creator Mitch Hurwitz had already "written some stuff" and that "all the cast wants to get together and do it".

So, just how "arrested" is the pending Season 5 production of Arrested Development? The hope, as Bateman indicated, is to start shooting new episodes as early as this summer. After all, most of the fun of watching Arrested Development comes from seeing the core group of actors interact with and play off of one another.

Season five of Arrested Development is officially a go!
