A Palestinian youth was shot dead Friday after clashes erupted in the Israeli-occupied West Bank between Palestinian demonstrators and Israeli forces, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

Families of prisoners spoke at the sit in, demanding worldwide and legal organizations intervene "without any delay to achieve the demands of Palestinian prisoners", who have been on mass hunger strike in Israeli prisons for 25 days as of Thursday.

The ministry says the protesters sustained light leg injuries from low caliber bullets at Thursday's rally, during which some Palestinians threw rocks at Israeli soldiers.

The ICRC had previously been allowed access to other prisoners on hunger strike, but Israel had restricted access to Barghouti.

Earlier this week, Israel produced footage it said showed him secretly breaking his fast in his cell.

Meanwhile, Barghouti's lawyer, Khader Shkirat, said the Israel Prison Service abruptly canceled a planned prison meeting with his client that had been scheduled for Thursday.

The strike began on 17 April and is being led by Fatah leader, Marwan Barghouti.

'I was a little bit surprised' over backlash against Comey's firing
The interview on Fox comes after a week of intense scrutiny of Trump following his unexpected dismissal of Comey. Trump earlier Friday issued a cryptic threat to Comey amid a flood of leaks to the media from the White House.

According to Palestinian figures, Israel is now holding more than 6,500 Palestinians - including scores of women and children - at 24 detention centers across the country. Barghouti is serving five life sentences for his role in orchestrating deadly terror attacks during the second Palestinian intifada.

The hunger strike comes as the 50th anniversary of Israel's occupation of the West Bank during the 1967 Arab-Israeli war approaches.

But the longer the hunger strike goes on the greater the potential it has to fuel unrest in the Palestinian territories. "Holding them in the West Bank alone, without Gaza, will cement division", said Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum.

Librati said "we thought it's important for the public to see the behavior of the hunger strike leader", but he did not address the privacy issue. It is only about Marwan Barghouti's desire to gain political power and position himself to replace Abu Mazen.

For years, global human rights groups as well as the United Nations have condemned arrests of Palestinians under military law and incidents of medical neglect, torture and isolation of prisoners.

Israel maintains that they are treated properly, in compliance with worldwide standards, and has refused to enter negotiations over the demands.

While it was announced that Israeli Prison Service is going to start negotiations with prisoners' leaderships over their demands, the national committee for supporting prisoners pointed that so far there haven't been any official negotiations, amidst prisoners' rejection of any sort of negotiations if it doesn't involve strike leaders.
