Prison: Aaron Hernandez elated about acquittal, not suicidal

The release of Hernandez's suicide note comes just a day after the state Department of Correction released more than 100 pages of documents from its investigation into Hernandez's death. The prison disciplinary records detail an incident shortly after Hernandez was convicted of murdering Lloyd.

An investigative report on the suicide of ex-NFL and University of Florida star Aaron Hernandez has revealed new details about how he was found.

The report rules out, based on a toxicology study, synthetic marijuana or any other substances; published reports had suggested that Hernandez smoked the substance the evening before the suicide. "If he was going to be in with someone else why not Aaron Hernandez", said Army. The defense team sharply criticized state investigators, saying some leaked information to reporters while failing to keep the Hernandez family informed.

"You have always been my soul-mate and I want you to live life and know I'm always with you", he said in the handwritten missive made public Friday in a court filing. The family members were victims in this matter and deserved better treatment by the Commonwealth of MA. Prison authorities declined to comment beyond the official report on Hernandez's death.

"We intend to fully, completely and impartially review all of the evidence in this matter", the statement continues.

On April 14, Hernandez was was acquitted in Suffolk Superior Court on charges of killing Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado in a drive-by shooting in the city's South End in the early morning hours of July 16, 2012.

The documents, which include the first published excerpt of one of the notes that Hernandez left behind in his cell, are based on interviews with fellow inmates at the MA prison where he had been serving a life sentence for murdering an acquaintance. The first redacted name might be his daughter, Avielle Janelle Hernandez, 4.

Government 'Needs a Good Shutdown' to Fix Senate 'Mess'
McConnell told reporters. "There's not a single senator in the majority who thinks we ought to change the legislative filibuster". The $1.2 trillion agreement would increase military spending by $25 billion, or 4.5%, above fiscal year 2016 levels.

According to the Massachusetts Department of Correction, Hernandez was in a "single cell in a general population housing".

Three months later, on August 20, Hernandez was assigned to a new housing unit in prison.

About a month after Aaron Hernandez was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison, a correction officer at Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in MA visited his cell to check for marks and bruising. A curtain was also hung across the doorway, obstructing the view into the cell, records show.

The report said Hernandez was found in his cell about 3 a.m. after corrections officers noticed he had stuck cardboard into the tracks of his cell door to prevent it from opening. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The report confirms the ruling that the cause of death was asphyxia by hanging, ruled a suicide by the medical examiner.

According to the report, before hanging himself with a bed sheet tied to his cell's window bars, Hernandez wrote reference to a Bible passage on his forehead, in ink, and on the wall, in blood.

In red pen, Hernandez also wrote John 3:16 on his forehead, a scripture verse that declares eternal life for all - even the most wicked - as long as they believe God sent his son to perish for them.
