Messenger’s Instant Games roll out to reclaim Facebook’s crown

Today's rollout also means that Messenger will be seeing numerous new features announced at Facebook's F8 conference.

Among the first games to receive the support for rich gameplay features is Zynga's Words With Friends. The Rich gameplay features include turn-based gameplay, addition of tournaments and leaderboards, and more customizable messages. In the case of Instant Games, Bots help facilitate the action by reminding players when it's time to make the next move, and presenting leaderboard updates to encourage a little healthy competition.

Instant Games for Facebook Messenger is beginning to rollout worldwide, bringing plenty of gaming action to you and your friends. The HTML5-powered cross-platform gaming experience lets you easily discover, share, and play games on Messenger without having to install new apps. When you open the Games section, you will be able to find games such as EverWing and Zynga's Words with Friends. Since then, however, mobile games have snatched the crown away from Facebook but the social network giant is ready to take it back with a vengeance and a twist. Those features allow developers to create unique game bots that can communicate with players about new levels and rewards.

The most fantastic features among all these are to provide the ability to play turn-based games. For game bots, one of the first to use it is one of the most popular games on Instant Games, EverWing. Another key advantage of the platform is that games don't need to be downloaded and installed.

Based on the device that one is using and their location, there are up to 50 game titles on the platform and more are being introduced every week.

Facebook has announced that it's starting to roll out Instant Games on Messenger globally. Coming soon and hopefully with rich gameplay features as well is 8 Ball Pool, which says it is the world's #1 pool game.
