Trump's first 100 days: High in executive orders, low in approval ratings

He touted his placement of Justice Neil Gorsuch on the Supreme Court and scrapping of the Trans Pacific Partnership trade deal.

"It's not just about the correspondents dinner", Spicer said of the rally. Trump, who has derided journalists as "dishonest" and even enemies of the American people, is the first president since 1981 to stay away from the event.

Trump planned to sign an executive order directing the Commerce Department and the US trade representative to conduct a study of USA trade agreements.

While Trump's raucous rally was straight out of his campaign playbook, he also did something he rarely does - call out U.S. congressmen from Pennsylvania who were in attendance by name.

With President Donald Trump sending his regrets, the attention was no longer focused on an in-person roasting of the commander in chief and his humorous remarks about politics and the press. So he started his rally by belittling reporters, reminding his supporters that Washington journalists were busy cavorting in a ballroom with Hollywood celebrities at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. To cheers, he accused the news media of "fake news" and said that if their job was to be honest and tell the truth, then they deserved "a big, fat failing grade".

President Trump celebrated his 100th day in office by holding a rally in Saturday night in Pennsylvania.

"My administration has been delivering every single day for the great citizens of our country", he said, claiming his "America First" policy had already increased employment.

Some of these photos have been subjects of controversy, others are a pointer to the absence of the First Lady Melania in the White House, many others have made for unforgettable memes and we've seen a few that reflect the man who has wielded power he can hardly comprehend.

In an hour-long speech attacking the media and predecessor Barack Obama, boasting about his support for United States industry and the military, vaunting his foreign policy positions including on confronting North Korea, reading a poem, and repeating his signature "Make America Great Again" motto, Trump earned cheer after cheer from the crowd in Pennsylvania.

McDonald's order trips up Facebook slaying suspect
According to the owner, Tom Ducharme Jr., the suspect, Steve Stephens, placed an order then drove to the window. Baines said her father was the epitome of a family man who "would give you the shirt off his back".

In his first 100 days in office, Trump signed more executive orders than any president has since Harry Truman more than 70 years ago.

"You know, one of the things we say in the south if a Girl Scout egged your house, would you buy cookies from her?"

President Donald Trump passed his 100th day in office without successfully repealing Obamacare - a key element of his campaign strategy. The United States has pledged to step up sanctions to force North Korea to resume dialogue over its nuclear program, as Trump warned of the risk of a "major conflict" with Pyongyang.

Papenfuse told the crowd that Trump had succeeded in one area - "inspiring the grass roots!" - to cheers from the people who stood in a wide semicircle to hear him.

This past week, Trump also reflected on his new gig in an interview with Reuters, saying the presidency is "more work than in my previous life".

His tax plan, hastily unveiled this week in the hope of burnishing his first 100 days with a success story, has been savaged as a multi-billion-dollar giveaway to the wealthy that will send the national debt soaring.

In Washington, thousands of demonstrators braved sweltering heat approaching 90 degrees and marched down Pennsylvania Avenue from near the U.S. Capitol to Trump's new home, the White House.

Some demonstrators there dressed up as the statue of liberty, protesting what they saw as growing attacks on personal freedom under Trump's leadership.

Eight days into his administration, President Trump places a phone call to Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Oval Office of the White House.
