Katy Perry faces wrath as she posts picture of Goddess Kali

Singer Katy Perry is being slammed for posting an image of Hindu goddess Kali to Instagram.

Many users liked and commented on the seemingly innocuous image; but others didn't take the post lightly, calling Perry a "disgrace" and the image "offensive".

One Instagram user wrote, "This is a little offensive to the Hindu community because the meaning behind this photo and god symbolises something different".

American singer Katy Perry is facing the rage of Indians on social media since she posted the picture of Goddess Kali on her Instagram.

Here's another comment: "Problem is, you used this picture as to show your mood, like an emoji sticker, but that's our god not a sticker to show your mood @katyperry you don't know INDIAN MOOD when it comes to religion, beware!"

However, others did come to Katy's defence, explaining she wasn't ignorant as she had married in India. "Please stop overreacting to everything", said one fan.

They wrote: "Don't use our gods" images to describe your mood.

Former South Korean President Indicted For Bribery
Park and Choi are accused of receiving $68 million , with about half of that money coming from Samsung . Prosecutors said Monday that they have indicted Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong-bin on bribery charges.

This isn't the first time the singer has been accused of misappropriating Hindu culture.

'I love your songs and I had respect for you, B****!

One of the user wrote, "Don't disrespect Indian Goddess. this can't be called as mood. have some values".

Although, to be fair, the 32-year-old DID marry Russell Brand in a lavish Hindu ceremony in India back in 2010 - so it's not like she doesn't know anything about Hinduism.

She later posted an image, which appeared to mimic the pose of Kali.

"Respect her she is our goddess of hindu u can't use it in this way, seriously u lost Respect in my eyes", the user commented.
