Chauncey Lee Daniels is facing numerous charges, including murder and three counts of aggravated assaulted, after authorities said he shot four people and then exited a MARTA train at the West Lake station around 4:30 p.m. A MARTA spokesman says one man died at the scene.
The injured were admitted to a hospital.
Caleb said he yelled to other passengers to move to the front. Witnesses say the gunman seemed to be shooting indiscriminately, not aiming at any particular person.
Passengers were immediately removed from the train after the shooting and MARTA officials have announced an increased security presence throughout the system. Buses returned to their normal operating schedule about 9:20 p.m. Authorities have yet to determine a motive for the shooting at the MARTA station.
