Workaholics' Adam Devine to Host MTV's First-Ever Movie & TV Awards

Jordan Peele's hit horror movie "Get Out", leads the nominations for the MTV Movie and TV Awards.

The new divisions have Get Out's Daniel Kaluuya competing directly with Emma Watson for her role as Belle in Beauty and the Beast in the "Best Actor in a Movie" category as voting for the award show opened on MTV's website. To kick things off we see that two of our favorite comedy series are up for Show Of The Year, and this couldn't be more than right.

The network announced last month that its annual movie fête would be making room for television after 25 years of honoring the big screen with prizes as varied as best kiss, best villain and best shirtless performance.

Ditching gendered categories has become more common with awards shows. Competing for best actor in a show are Millie Bobby Brown ("Stranger Things"), Emilia Clarke ("Game of Thrones"), Donald Glover ("Atlanta"), Mandy Moore ("This Is Us"), Jeffrey Dean Morgan ("The Walking Dead") and Gina Rodriguez ("Jane the Virgin").

Wahl said that though she understands why HB2 was written, its objective went awry. "This new law is not a repeal of HB2". Dzinich said he blamed the governor's lack of power for the situation.

The leaders are Get Out with six nominations and Beauty and the Beast and Stranger Things with four.

Now, after a quarter century of giving out its Golden Popcorn bucket to the best of movies, MTV will celebrate TV too.

Singer Adam Devine will host the awards, which will take place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on May 7.

This Is Us also landed nominations for Show of the Year, as well as in a category called Tearjerkers (you have to think the emotionally intense NBC show has that one locked).
