Don't Expect Series Against India, Cricketers Tell PCB

There is a possibility of a cricket series between arch rivals India and Pakistan in Dubai if the government gives the nod to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), according to a report. The report also claims that former BCCI chief Shashank Manohar wanted to hist Pakistan for a series but the Home Ministry denied his request.

The Future Tours & Programme (FTP) agreement, finalized in 2014, required the two countries to play six bilateral series between 2015 and 2023, but the last time India and Pakistan played one was way back in 2012 in India, when the teams locked horns for two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) and three One-Day Internationals (ODIs). India lost the ODI series, while the T20I series ended in a draw.

The result, which gave South Africa a 1-0 series win, earned Faf du Plessis's side two ranking points and helped the Proteas move one point ahead of Australia in second place. Thakur, who is a MP in the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, had said that "there was no question of playing cricket with Pakistan".

The matches between India and Pakistan always stir buzz in the media. The two Asian teams are scheduled to meet each other in the 2017 Champions Trophy on June 4 in Edgbaston, Birmingham.

The BCCI is now eyeing playing the away series in September or November.

Comcast to expand streaming service amid cord-cutting trend
The TV streaming service, in a bid to provide content on to PCs, tablets, and phones, has to pass via a broadband modem. The service will offer a "skinny" channel line-up, with pricing starting at $15/month, according to the Reuters report.

"Permission has been sought from the home ministry; we don't know what is the government stand".

The two teams will lock horns in the Emerging Cup tournament, an event designed for the Under-23 players, but four teams - India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka - can field four national players in total without an age cap.

The cricket has been affected badly due to the political tensions between the two countries.

Confirming the news, MV Sridhar was quoted saying by The Indian Express, "Yes, India would be sending a team to the tournament".

Moreover, Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Rajeev Shukla also denied knowledge on any such letter written by the BCCI to the Indian government.
