Deer Creek Middle School Shooting: 2 Are Injured. A middle school in Littleton, Colorado not far from Columbine recently had an incident of violence. Because of the shooting, 2 people are injured.
Both those injured are students, and an adult suspect has been arrested in connection with the case. It is expected that both victims will survive, according to news reports available right now. One victim is a male and the other a female, and one was shot inside the school and the other outside the school.
Columbine was the sight of one of the deadliest school shootings, where two students killed 12 fellow students, a teacher, and wounded 23 other students. To have something happen such as the Deer Creek incident opens wounds for many in this sleepy Colorado town.
Deer Creek is on lockdown, and parents of students have been alerted via text message, email, and phone calls of the situation. School lets out at 3:05 PM MST, and the shootings took place around 3:30 PM.
Our thoughts are with the students who have been traumatized by the tragedy. We also hope that the students will have a quick and speedy recovery and that the authorities will be able to conclude the investigation quickly so that the residents of Littleton will be able to sleep.
