Sexual iPhone Apps Purged from Apple iTunes

Sexual iPhone Apps Purged from Apple iTunes.  Looking for overtly sexual iPhone apps? Well, you aren’t in luck.  Apple has pulled some 5,000 racy iPhone apps from iTunes.  While you might think that the purged apps would include hardcore porn or something totally out in left field, you might be surprised as to what is construed as “overtly sexy.”

According to Apple’s App Store Policy, the following types of content aren’t allowed in apps:

  • images of women  or men in bikinis
  • pictures of skin
  • silhouettes indicating that the app includes sexual images
  • sexual connotations or innuendo
  • sexually arousing content
  • Still yet, as of today Playboy apps are still available – even though they feature images of women in bikinis.  Of course, with the rate the sexual iPhone app purges are going Hugh’s sexy iPhone applications may be a thing of the past.

A vast majority of the changes to the App Store Policy and the decision to get rid of some of these apps come from consumer complaints.

Still yet, is it right to get rid of all these types of iPhone applications? Do you think that Apple should handle the situation differently, such as having a separate section of the Apple App store dedicated to adult content?

Face it – sex sells and Apple could lose a considerable amount of money by not offering these types of applications.  However, there are many who will stick by the brand because of more a more wholesome attitude towards their offerings.

So what are your thoughts? Do you think Apple is over reacting, or do you think that sexy apps have no place on an iPhone?

Thanks for sharing your ideas. One thing is that scholars have a choice between federal government student loan and a private education loan where it can be easier to opt for student loan online debt consolidation than in the federal education loan.
