Apple iPad Release Date & iPad 3g Release: Foreign Sales Postponed, April for 3g in US
April 14th, 2010
Apple iPad Release Date & iPad 3g Release: Foreign Sales Postponed, April for 3g in US. Cupertino, California based Apple has reported that they shipped 500,000 units of their popular iPad computer in the first weeks of its existence in the US, and they say that demand is going to exceed their supply for a little while longer.
For that reason, the iPad isn’t set to launch in areas outside the US until sometime during late May. Of course, this is going to disappoint many individuals who have been drooling over the newest addition to the Apple lineup. However, if the iPad was offered worldwide, there would be a shortage and too many people would likely have to wait for their product to arrive in their hands.
On the news of the delay until late May, Apple stocks rose – showcasing that the demand is going to mean lots more money for Apple investors.
Curious about the iPad 3g release date, I trekked over to Apple’s Web site and found out that the release date is still set for sometime in late April. It’s mid-April now so we are getting closer and closer (at least we hope) to the release date.
The iPad 3g is really neat in that you can manage your 3g connection from your iPad, meaning there’s no need to trek to AT&T or have an employee at Apple unlock your product. In addition, the tablet will optimize between 3g and wi-fi allowing you to benefit from the fastest connection speeds available.
In addition, the Apple iPad will work at various AT&T hotspots, ensuring those on the $14.99 monthly plan save their data package for when they need it the most.
