HP Slate Release Date 2010 & Slate Launch

April 13th, 2010

HP Slate Release Date 2010 & Slate Launch.  The Apple iPad was released, and now the HP Slate is the next desired tablet computer.  Rumored to launch sometime in the Fall of 2010, the HP Slate will boast a variety of features not currently available on the iPad.

That’s not to say that the Slate is a superior tablet.  As PCs and Macs are different so are Slates and iPads.   The Slate will feature a USB port, SD card reader, and will offer Flash support. In addition, it will run on the Windows 7 operating system which means that many popular software applications such as MS Office will be available on the tablet.

The Webcam is front facing, allowing for videoconferencing on the go.  Where the iPad targets the graphic designer, student, or light computing user the Slate will target the tough business minded individuals.

The entry price will be around $549, which is comparable to that of the iPad.  Even though the iPad doesn’t boast some of the same feature as the Slate, don’t be surprised if we see additions such as SD card readers and webcams. As for USB ports and Flash support…don’t hold your breath.
