iPad Review 2010: Apple iPad 3g vs Wifi Comparison
April 3rd, 2010
iPad review 2010: Apple ipad 3g vs Apple iPad comparison. Today is the launch of the Apple iPad, and people are so excited about the release date. There are those out there wondering one thing – which iPad is for me? The base model starts at $499, and the most expensive model – a 64 GB device with 3g connectivity is available for $829. With the price scale this large, there’s an iPad for every budget.
The iPad 3g will be released in “late April” but there’s not a concrete date given. The 3g connectivity allows users to surf the Internet anywhere that has an AT&T 3g network connection. Alternatively, individuals can still use Wi-Fi at home or in places that have it available in order to save battery power. The cost of the 3g coverage is between $14.99 and $30 – depending on what data plan is selected. In addition, no contract is required giving users ease of mind about the flexibility of the product.
Some people don’t need 3g connectivity. IF you are buying an iPad for your tween, chances are he or she will do just fine with a wi-fi version. Furthermore if you are a homebody that just wants an iPad to “play” with you likely do just fine with the Wi-Fi only version.
On the other hand if you travel a lot or want to use your iPad during your morning commute – go with the 3g coverage.
Then, there’s the issue of memory. It’s been said that the 16 GB model is a little weak for most users – this is best for younger children, teens, and those that don’t need an extensive media library. The 16 GB costs $499 for wifi and $629 for the 3g version.
The 32GB memory is cited as the amount of memory that most people need. It’s plenty to download multiple apps, keep eBooks, and download some movies as well. It costs $599 for the 3g and $729 for the 3g model.
The 64 GB model is said to be best for the serious gamer who wants multiple movies at their fingertips. It’s $699 for Wi-Fi and $829 on the 3g connection.
