2010 Dancing with the Stars Results 10 Season – A Shocker (or not?) Another season of DWTS is here and the first round of eliminations are over.  While America waited with bated breath to see if the scornful and high-strung matriarch of eight **cough** Kate Gosselin **cough** would get voted off during the first rounds, we were surprised.

Kate Gosselin and Buzz Aldrin (the elderly Astronaut) both had the lowest scores of the group, and they are two of the most talked about contestants. Chad Ochocinco also didn’t do that great – but he did well enough to keep him in during these early days.

Well, Kate and Buzz will be at it again next week (if Kate doesn’t run Tony Dovolani off, of course) and everyone is wondering – will they stay in the running over more worthy opponents simply because they bring in the ratings and gossip?

It’s sort of like Tim Urban with American Idol.  There are many that think he should have been voted off weeks ago – and still he’s there.  There are some theories that he’s still in because he wasn’t supposed to be there in the first place.  Remember – he was Chris Golightly’s replacement when a contract dispute disqualified him from the competition.

So we have to ask ourselves – is it really all that shocking that Shannen Doherty was eliminated from Dancing with the Stars? She’s from the 90210 days, and many of the people watching DWTS were too young when the show was on to really remember it.

Pam Anderson, Kate Gosselin, Chad Ochocinco, Erin Andrews, Nicole Scherzinger, Evan Lysacek – and of course the 80 year old astronaut – are all more recent “stars.” And these types of shows are actually more of one big popularity contest than a true testament to how well someone dances.
