Google TV Another Bright and Exciting Innovation.  Google is one of the most innovative companies out there today. From the Google Android platform used on many popular cell phone handsets to the popular Google Nexus phone – there are so many new innovations coming down the pipeline.

Add to the list the Google TV.  In collaboration with Sony and Intel, Google wants to create a multimedia television experience, equipped with keyboard included remote controls and internet streaming capabilities.

Logitech is rumored to be involved in making the actual equipment for the Google TV.

The TV platform is based on the popular Android platform, and Google is intending to open up the platform to developers so that applications can be created with the same innovation experienced through mobile phone apps.

The TV is also rumored to have the Chrome browser capabilities, allowing TV viewers to view Twitter and other sites on their TV sets.  In addition, there’s much talk about Hulu.com content streaming through the TVs.

Of course, there will be many obstacles to overcome with the Google TV.  First, the company will likely have resistance from TV networks and cable companies.

Still yet, the invention is rumored to be hitting the market sometime this summer.  This could mean that before you know it, you will be able to surf the Web on TV and carry a tablet PC around with you at all times.  With all of that…will you still need your desktop or laptop?
