Is Jennifer Aniston a Failure or Not?

December 31st, 2010

Rupert Everett opened a can of worms, stating that Jennifer Aniston is a member of a small number of Hollywood “elite” that, despite several failures at the Box Office, continue to hold A-list status.

Aniston is best known for her role as Rachel in the 1990′s sitcom, Friends. After Friends ended, she went on to become a movie actor. Her co-star, Courtney Cox, did some movie acting as well – and is also known for her role in the “Scream” franchise. However, Cox has taken back to network television, starring in Cougartown.

Aniston has had her run of successes at the box office.  “The Breakup” and “Marley and Me” featured the actress – but she was working alongside big names in comedy like Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. She was also in “He’s just not that in to you” which was also a big hit at the box office but featured lots of big names, including Bradley Cooper, Ben Affleck, and Drew Barrymore.

And then there’s the tabloids.  In addition to her constant “Angelina Jolie vs Jennifer Aniston” slot on InTouch weekly, she’s also had a slew of failed relationships from ill matched actors such as Gerard Butler and Vince Vaughn and musician John Mayer.

Everett’s criticism was mainly because of her box office flops, including “The Bounty Hunter” “The Switch” “Manager” and “Along Came Polly.”

Despite her flops, she’s launched a perfume line and continues to rake in millions in earnings each year. She’s one of the industry’s most beautiful people -someone that we always like keeping an eye on.

She’s coming out with a movie titled “Just Go With It” starring Adam Sandler. That should be an interesting film and one that we would really like to see.

So is Aniston a failure? Last time I checked, she’s not. She’s still in demand.  She’s an A-lister – and she has GREAT hair. However, I would love to see her on a Showtime or HBO TV series – sort of like David Duchovny in “Californication” or her “Friends” co-star Matt LeBlanc’s “Episodes.”
