Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito took to the ring yesterday in what has become one of the biggest matches in recent boxing history. Would Margarito and Pacquiao be able to keep their fans entertained? What is to come of the two fighters? What are the results of the epic match?
The pre-fight was FULL of drama. Roach suspected that Margarito took ephedra, which is prohibited. He demanded a pre-fight blood test from both fighters, and the commission refused. They settled on a urine test at the end of the fight, but by then, the ephedra will have worked out of the system. Margarito’s people questioned Pacquiao’s hand wraps. Oh, the drama.
The fight did go on, though.
Manny Pacquiao won rounds 1,2,3,4,5,7,9,10,11, and 12. Margarito won rounds 6 and 8. Sports Illustrated has a round by round recap which was written live as the event unfolded.
Of course, Manny Pacquiao won – not too many people are surprised. However Margarito did put up a decent fight and perhaps this is going to open the door to him to head back to the world of Boxing in the US after his scandal broke last year.

nothing was fake…it was all real! it was a very good fight…i believe the opinions from the professionals, people who really know boxing because they know what they are talking about. Ordinary people are just assuming and are basing their own opinions from what they thought, and its not professionally….peace to all!:)

Personally I was not paying to see this fight because both of these boxers are cheaters. We all know the scandals behind Margarito and his suspension. At least he was disciplined for being a cheater. What about Pacquiao? He wormed his way out of that fight with Mayweather because he was asked to take a drug test and refused. It is obvious that he uses performance enhancement drugs. He should be required to take a drug test. I am tired of fans making a big deal about Pacquiao who needs drugs to put on a show. Really? Anyone who is a fan of Pacquiao condones cheating. It sounds like the fight was as fake as Pacquiao. Maybe now that Margarito is being an honest boxer he really can’t fight as well as we thought he could. Maybe a rematch with ensuring that Pacquiao is drug free will display the real ability of these two fighters. CHEATERS CHEAT because they CAN’T PERFORM SUCCESSFULLY.
One of the biggest in boxing history? Only if by that you mean one of the worst in boxing history! Either Margarito sold out the fight or he just didn’t have it in him. Either way he had no business in the ring in the first place. I hope Margarito is happy with the money he got because he has dissapointed all his fans. Next time you get in the ring Margarito, bring your heart with you. There are no words to describe what a terrible performance you put on out there. When you get in a ring, it is to fight! You should know that you are a boxer? Pacquiao, you are not that great, you just keep getting put up against people that could do great but don’t care about their image anymore. Image is everything in the eyes of your fans boys! To the boxing federation, next time, please do a better job of picking your fighters. The fight was just too fake!
