Indonesian Volcano Eruption 2010 Death Toll, Flight Delays [VIDEO]

November 11th, 2010

The 2010 Indonesian Volcano eruption has caused flight delays.  Mount Merapi in Indonesia has erupted once again, and the result is that ash plumes are sent in the air.  As the US President is touring Asia right now, the Indonesian Volcano eruption is garnering a lot of attention because it has, in some respects, shortened the President’s trip.

Obama spent part of his childhood in Indonesia.  In fact, there’s a lot of speculation that he wasn’t even born in the USA. A group called “The Birthers” want to see Obama’s birth certificate, when it’s just the certificate of live birth that has been disclosed.  The Certificate of Live Birth doesn’t necessarily guarantee that someone was born in the jurisdiction it was handed out. Still yet, the President met disclosure requirements, and that should satisfy most Americans as to his citizenship.

Yesterday several commercial airliners cancelled flights in to and out of Jakarta.  In addition, the President sliced several hours off of his whirlwind visit to the country.  The President is currently at the G20 summit in Seoul, South Korea.

The Indonesia Volcano eruption 2010 has claimed the lives of 194 people and has left 350,000 homeless.  It’s a devastating event, and hopefully Mount Merapi will cease being active soon.
