[VIDEO] “Four Loko”: BANNED!  The caffeinated alcoholic beverage “Four Loko” is drumming up controversy, and the Food and Drug Administration is getting involved. There have been many teens and college aged students who have gotten sick from drinking the caffeinated alcoholic beverages, and many experts are claiming that it is not safe to mix caffeine with alcohol.

One university has already banned the drinks, and I have a feeling that trend will resonate throughout many campuses across the US.

The caffeine in the 12% alcohol drink acts to keep a drunk person alert.  Although they still have the alcohol in their system, they won’t feel it until the caffeine wears off.  Some venture to say that people are more likely to drink and drive and “think they are ok” than someone drinking…say…a beer.  Of course, there’s no studies to confirm those feelings.

Below is news coverage on Four Loko, a highly caffeinated alcoholic beverage which has been banned across campuses throughout the nation.
