Daylight Savings Time 2010 and DST Spring Forward 2010
March 13th, 2010
Daylight Savings Time 2010 and DST Spring Forward 2010. Tomorrow is Spring Forward and to adjust for Daylight Savings Time you need to make sure you set you clocks forward an hour. In November, we will revert back to Standard Time.
Until then, we will get to enjoy an additional hour of sunshine in the evening hours. The basic premise of Daylight Savings Time is to save energy. In fact, President George W. Bush signed an Energy law in 2005, and starting in 2007 the Daylight Saving Time frame started to be extended. Previously, DST went from April to October. Now, it’s from March to November.
Whether or not you agree that DST saves time, you will still have to remember to set your clock forward. The states of Arizona, Hawaii, and some counties in Indiana plus US Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and Puerto Rico do not recognize the time change.
Standard Time was actually created because of the railroad system. Back in the past, each locality set their own standard time. After it was nearly impossible to print schedules for each locality, the Government set up the Eastern, Central, Mountain, and Pacific Time zones.
Before you go to bed, don’t forget to set your clocks FORWARD an hour. Then, you can rest knowing you won’t be late for work, church, or for the big basketball conference tourneys.
