Shooting at Johns Hopkins: Death Toll 2, Doctor Injured (VIDEO)

September 16th, 2010

A Johns Hopkins shooting occurred today, when a gunman entered a hospital and barricaded himself in a room with a family member.  A doctor was shot during the John’s Hopkins shooting, but is expected to survive. Early reports indicated that while the shooting had stopped, the suspect had not been apprehended. However, we have learned that the death toll is at 2 as the shooter and his mother has been shot and killed.

The shooter is the family member of a patient, and was not happy with the care the patient was receiving. The suspect is reported by CNN to have shot and killed his mother and then himself.

The John’s Hopkins university and hospital is so overrun with Baltimore police, that emergency calls are going unanswered in the area that are not related to this shooting.  Visitors of the hospital and students on the campus are being escorted off.  There is chaos in the area, but for now the situation looks like it is coming to an end.

This is such a sad situation coming out of Johns Hopkins. We will update you on any news we hear about the shooting.
