The biggest winners and losers at Comic Con 2010 are in the buzz today.  The event is a major deal for comic book enthusiasts around the globe, as people are excited to see what new movies will be released.

Even those who have never so much as picked up a comic book love Comic-Con.  It’s there that we see the previews and debuts of our favorite movies. This year’s conference brought quite a few winners and losers to discuss. 

First, The Avengers sizzled at the SDCC 2010.  The movie is one of the most highly anticipated comic book based films to be released in the coming months.  Captain America, THOR, and this particular film are the subject of a lot of buzz. The movie will debut in 2012.

Second, the Green Lantern starring Ryan Reynolds is set to be a hit.  Reynolds plays the first ever human Green Lantern, and has to save the world from destruction.  His costume was recently revealed on the cover of EW magazine, and was met with rave reviews.

Even though the event itself is great, there are always bound to be some losers.  The Cape is one of them. One blogger writes “This superhero show screened an extended sizzle reel or a truncated pilot, and it came across as hokey and somewhat formulaic superhero action. Even Summer Glau as a blogger who fights crime named Orpheus couldn’t make people get excited. Not even a raccoon robbing a bank could save the day! “

Another “loser” at this year’s event was “Green Hornet.”  Now, admittedly this is a movie I will likely rent when it comes out simply because it has Seth Rogen in it, but as the LA Times points out, the “movie seemed to confuse some moviegoers by falling in-between kitschy action and more self-serious inspiration.”
