Sarah Palin Facebook: Posts Against Ground Zero Mosque Deleted, Reinstated
July 26th, 2010
Sarah Palin’s Facebook posts that were in opposition of the building of a mosque near the 9/11 ground zero site were deleted from the social networking site. Facebook claims that the incident happened because of a computer “glitch” and subsequently issued an apology and re-instated the posts.
This does sound fishy. There’s been a lot of controversy surrounding the building of an Islamic worship center on the 9/11 ground zero site, and Sarah Palin has not been standing by quietly during the ordeal. She is in strong opposition, and she’s not going to stand idly by and say nothing.
Sarah Palin’s stance on the subject is summarized in her post: “Many Americans, myself included, feel it would be an intolerable and tragic mistake to allow such a project sponsored by such an individual to go forward on such hallowed ground. This is nothing close to “religious intolerance,” it’s just common decency.”
Facebook says that it is an algorithm which took the post down, although they claim that they cannot say how the algorithm works because of security issues.
Perhaps it’s the use of “mosque’” and “9/11 attacks” within the post which made it flagged by the automated system? Perhaps there ARE some security measures which delete content with these phrases within them so that certain groups of people cannot use the site to communicate with each other.
Still, there’s a conspiracy; did Facebook actually delete the post because they did not agree with it? They did note that her words didn’t violate any of the site’s Terms of Service or anything like that.
The post in question can be found here. It has been placed back online.

In other words, Americans citizens who are Muslim are not “first class” citizens, only “second class” Where have we heard this before in our history about efforts to make some citizens “second class,” not because of whom they worshiped, but based on the color of the skin or their national origin ?
