March 5th, 2010
Oscar Predictions 2010: Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Picture Predictions Abound. The Academy Awards will air on March 7th at 5 PST/8 EST. There are many people that are already gearing up for the massive awards show, and making their predictions for hot categories such as Best Actress, Best Actor, and Best Picture
Best Actress in a Leading Role
Up for Best Actress in a leading role are: Sandra Bullock, Helen Mirren, Carey Mulligan, Gabourey Sidibe, and Meryl Streep.
Although all of these actresses are immensely talented, one stands out to us. Sandra Bullock’s performance in “The Blindside” was outstanding. It was hard to get used to seeing her blonde, but she hit the nail on the head in her lead role.
Best Actor in a Leading Role
The following actors are nominated for Oscars for their lead roles: Jeff Bridges, George Clooney, Colin Firth, Morgan Freeman, Jeremy Renner.
Jeremy Renner is a great contender for this award. His performance in “The Hurt Locker” was very memorable, and his character very easy to relate to – and you really couldn’t tell he was acting.
Best Picture
This year there are 10 movies up for the Best Picture Oscar. The movies are: Avatar, The Blind Side, District 9, An Education, The Hurt Locker, Inglourious Basterds, Precious, A Serious Man, Up, Up in the Air
We don’t know where to start on this one. All of these movies are spectacular films. Avatar is cited by many to be the favorite for this award, but Hurt Locker stacked up to it quite well. The Blind Side is a great film, as is District 9 and Precious. It will be tough for the Academy judges to weed through this one, folks. Leave your predictions about who will win this award below.
