Rube Goldberg Machine and OK Go’s Idea

Rube Goldberg Machine and OK Go’s Idea.  Syyn Labs, the group that loves to go to Mindshare LA,  helped the band “OK Go” create a viral music video that is a great hit.  The technology firm’s Rube Goldberg machine is in perfect sync with the band’s song for an amazing four minutes, and rolls metal balls down tracks, unfurls flags, and drops umbrellas from a second story window.  It also pours water and generally just makes people smile.

What exactly is a Rube Goldberg machine? Aftere all, this is the first time many people have heard of this.  This is a machine that does a very simple task in a very complex fashion. Typically, the machine uses chain reactions in order to power its fantastic movements.

The name “Rube Goldberg” comes from an American Cartoonist by the same name.

Even though the machine performs a simple task, it isn’t at all simple to create.  All in all, it’s estimated that approximately 55 to 60 people worked to create the machine.

Although the music video appears to have the machine running smoothly and flawlessly, it took a lot of painstaking tasks to get everything just right. It took two days to shoot the footage, and each clip was about 30 to 60 seconds in length.

The machine is really pleasant for anyone to watch.  Engineers are amazed at how the creation was able to flow so smooth in connection with the song, and those who know nothing of technology just think that it looks really cool.
