Crystal Bowersox Hospital: 2010 American Idol Contestant Hospitalized for Diabetes? The “ladies first” policy during Season 9 of American Idol was re-vamped yesterday, as the top 10 women performances were pushed back to Wednesday night (tonight) and the top 10 men gave their performances.  The reason? Crystal Bowersox was hospitalized.

It will be interesting to see how Bowersox’s health snafu will affect tonight’s performances by the ladies.  Will she score some sympathy points, or will her illness cause a lackluster performance that will ultimately send her home? As with anything, this could go either way, folks.

There was a lot of controversy over the switching of the men and women’s nights.  After all, it wasn’t the men’s fault that Crystal was rushed to the hospital, and many don’t think that it was fair to put them on the spot.

Then again, if Crystal didn’t perform, that would mean that only one lady would be voted off this week, as her absence may have been taken as forfeiture. Still yet, she won’t likely be at her best tonight, and if she goes home anyways – wouldn’t that be a total waste of switching everyone up?

PS – many love Crystal Bowersox and don’t think that she’s in jeopardy of being sent home. She had a strong performance last week.
