Hawaii Tsunami Warning 2010 A Consequence of Chile Earthquake 2010

Hawaii Tsunami Warning 2010 A Consequence of Chile Earthquake 2010.  The American state and President Obama’s home state of Hawaii is under a tsunami warning.  The warning was issued as a result of Chile’s 8.8 earthquake.

It’s really scary that a tsunami can travel some 6,700 miles to the island of Hawaii.  The first of the waves are expected to hit the island at around 4:19PM EST or 11:19 am local.

The Hawaiian tsunami is expected to be the worst since 1964.  There are conflicting reports as to how big the waves will be, but coastal areas are being evacuated.

Mother nature’s wrath has been raging ever since the beginning of 2010.  Haiti’s capital of Port-au-Prince was devastated after a quake hit in January, Japan had a 7.0 earthquake hit off their coast, and luckily there was no devastation or casualties.

Hawaii is very well prepared for tsunamis, but that still doesn’t take away from the fear. People are flocking to grocery stores and convenience stores. However, officials recommend that individuals stay home to avoid clogging roadways.

Officials also don’t expect many casualties as a result of any potential tsunami in Hawaii. However, that depends on people following safety directions and the officials accurate estimation of the size of the potential size of the wave.
